What if one of the most important street photographers of the 20th century was a 1950s children’s nanny who kept herself to herself and never showed a single one of her photographs to anyone?

Decades later in 2007, a Chicago real estate agent and historical hobbyist, John Maloof purchased a box of never-seen, never-developed film negatives of an unknown ‘amateur’ photographer for $380 at his local auction house.

John began developing his new collection of photographs, some 100,000 negatives in total, that had been abandoned in a storage locker in Chicago before they ended up at the auction house. It became clear these were no ordinary street snaps of 1950s & 60s Chicago and New York and so John embarked on a journey to find out who was behind the photographs and soon discovered her name: Vivien Maier.

Whenever i go out what i always keep in mind is to carry stash with me (never with a lighter) because whats my reason for being out there than to socialize and be high with everyone else. I don’t carry with me a lighter because clearly most of the people i know are sparking a cigarette or burning a weed. So instead of being a victim of “who the fuck stole my lighter” i only bring weed with me and let the people with me trouble themselves of providing a spark to light a joint or a bowl. Anyway regarding the question about going out without a wallet, i experience that one time when i was way too late for a party i brought some weed and i only got some loose change in my pocket. As i counted the coins its enough to take me to where i am going but i wont have any fare to head back home. “Well fuck that shit, i’ll manage that thing later” so we got high, i dont drink beer so when im on clubs i only rehydrate myself with water and before the day end somebody is poking me to share some of my buds so i oblige by giving a small bud but told him about my story of being late and forgetting to bring a wallet. He gave me a smile attached with a P20.00 (the change he gave was more than enough my fare is only P8.00 ) and told me he owes me big time for the buds that i gave for free and i told him if it wasn’t for him i will be walking my way home tonight. We laughed and smoke it out before everyone packed up and go. Hah! Perks of having the best weed all the time: you can ask people their everything and they surely wouldn’t mind. (=_=)

my grandfather ran a cheetah sanctuary in south africa and he’d just lie with them and sleep among them and they’d rub against him and chirp at him they’re big fucking babies

Another Fun Fact: Cheetahs are incredibly nervous animals. One of the (many) reason’s they’re going extinct is that cheetahs are so sensitive and nervous, some of them are literally too nervous to breed. Others will breed, but stress themselves out so much, they’ll lose their cubs.

So zoos with breeding programs had to figure out how to make cheetahs comfortable enough to first of all, get laid and secondly - not spazz themselves into miscarrying.

So what’d they do?
They gave the cheetah’s their very own Service Dogs!

The dogs make them feel safe, protected and secure!
